Case Management & Advocacy
Before beginning this individual path to success, Unique Steps provides consultation services to create a vision for your child’s future.
Through examining school documentation, neuropsychological reports, doctor reports, IEPs, and any other information the parents wish to provide, we work backward, creating a roadmap for how your child will become a contributing of society.
These services are managed by Kim Wood, our resident special education advocate and consultant and company founder.
Tutoring & Remediation
Our mission is to provide quality individual remediation that will develop academic and communication skills through developmentally appropriate, stimulating, and challenging academic programming to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, fostering independence and empowering students to become lifelong learners.
We also offer tutoring for writing and Spanish for high school students. These one-on-one sessions are designed to help students strengthen their writing skills and grasp the fundamentals of the Spanish language for classwork and practical application.
Kim Wood provides remediation for students with special needs in reading, fictional math, written expression, and executive function for K-12.
Grace Wood specializes in one-on-one tutoring for high school English, helping students with basic writing principles and aids them from brainstorming to final revisions. She also aids students in developing their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in Spanish.
Homeschool Services
At Unique Steps, we advise parents to maximize their child’s learning experience in the home by using a multi-sensory approach encompassing their child’s unique talents and learning styles. We help parents choose a curriculum that best suits their child’s needs and strengths. At the end of the school year, we offer end-of-the-year evaluations for the county.
